The holiday season is here which means a lot of us are crazy busy. With everything we having going on like dance recitals, entertaining company, school programs, class parties, cooking and shopping, we still have to keep up with our normal routine. No matter what we have going on through the day we always have to put dinner on the table. So today, I want to share with you a quick and easy side dish that you are sure to love! Sautéed soy mushrooms!
This recipe is easy and only takes about 15 minutes. Now I have to be honest, I can’t take credit for this recipe. This is actually my husbands’ recipe and he is now ALWAYS in charge of mushrooms. It pairs perfectly with anything grilled but really they are so good that we have made them as a snack! Not your typical snack I know but we are kind of obsessed with them right now. You could also pile them on top of spaghetti. I’m typing this with an empty stomach and now I’m starving! 🙂
So anyway, let’s get to it. We play around with this recipe a lot so depending on our mood we may change the measurements a little bit. I love salty foods so I like a lot of soy but Trae prefers for a little more buttery taste. I’ll share the range we use and you can adjust it to your taste. As always there will be a printable version of the recipe at the end of this post.
All you need are mushrooms, soy sauce, garlic and butter. Grab a skillet and add the soy sauce, garlic and butter. Let it cook for just a few minutes on medium high heat. Just until it is bubbling. FYI: This happens very quickly. This is a great time to wash your mushrooms and pat dry with a paper towel. I know it looks like it is burning but I promise it’s not. Just be ready to add the mushrooms and stir.
Next add the mushrooms. Continue to cook on medium high heat, stirring frequently. Cook for about 10 minutes until it has started to caramelize.
Let me know what you think and if you have any changes to try. Be sure to click the Pin it button at the end of this post to make it easy to find when you are ready to try it.
Have a great weekend friends!
