I’m going to start off by saying, this is not what I would consider a super healthy dish. On the plus side however, this is a super simple, cheap and quick meal that is perfect for those busy weeknights. And it’s pretty tasty too! It takes an hour to bake and only a few minutes to throw together. It is also a very easy clean-up which might be my favorite part.
This recipe has been in my family for quite awhile. My mom used to make this for my dad when they were first married. They needed dinner and they needed it cheap so this was a weekly favorite. When Trae and I were newlyweds and I was learning to cook, I often made this dish because it was so simple. So I guess if you are looking for something quick, affordable, and good like my mom and I then this is the dish for you. I usually pair this with a salad and good dinner rolls and we are all set.
- Preheat your oven to 350.
- Spray a 9×13 dish with cooking spray.
- Combine the french onion soup and rice.
- Stir in the salt and pepper.
- Lay the pork chops on top and spoon some liquid over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
See? I told you it was easy. That’s it. Add a side if you want or if you are super busy this will do all by itself. Since we are trying to jump start our healthy lifestyle I would add a healthy side like asparagus, broccoli, or a salad.
