Wow, this has been a fast week! Trae and I had big plans to work out and start a strict healthy eating plan this week. Eeek! We failed. We didn’t eat horribly and we did get some exercise but not quite like we had planned. But today is a new day and this week we have a fresh start. It’s time to get fit!
Over the summer I shared with you several exercises that you can do anywhere and with your kids. I have still been doing that but I would like to take it up a notch. Anyone want to join me? Currently, I don’t have time to spend hours in the gym or too much time prepping food for the week so I promise what I share will be completely doable.
Something I have been doing recently is replacing one meal with an Isagenix shake. I use IsaLean Shake because I want to lose some weight that I have accumulated over the past several years. I prefer the chocolate flavor of course. Now this is a protein shake not a milkshake so don’t try it expecting it to be a healthy protein shake that tastes like something you ordered at a drive-thru. However, I am pretty picky when it comes to food and I liked this shake just mixed with water. If I want to adjust the taste a little I add a banana and some ice in the blender. This makes it creamier and even more filling.
As you know from “Questions to Ask Your Pharmacist”, my husband is a pharmacist and he is VERY picky about products like this. I have looked into purchasing similar shakes and he is quick to find the reasons not to like artificial sweeteners, too much caffeine or lack of sufficient vitamins/minerals. He read the label on this shake and even he said, “This is actually pretty good”.
They have other great products like Isagenix Greens and the Isalean Bar. You can check all of this out at www.chooseyourlifenow.com. You will have to determine if the price justifies the convenience and product for yourself. Right now I am really enjoying these products and using them as a way to cleanse my system and jumpstart my routine. I’ll keep you up to date on my weight loss journey and if I plan to stick with the shakes long term or only use them as a cleansing system.
So what does my upcoming week look like as far as exercise and diet? Remember I am not an athletic trainer or nutritionist so this is not advice but simply my journey to find a healthy balance.
Breakfast: Coffee and oatmeal *I am not giving up my coffee. I have three kids, remember!
Lunch: IsaLean Shake
Dinner: Chicken/Fish with Veggies
*I will supplement with snacks like almonds, raw veggies and fruits
For exercise I am going to start with T25 (I do not sell this but you can look for it at www.beachbody.com) 6 days a week. I am also going to join my kids in their Yoga bedtime routine. I told you it would be simple. Complicated is not for me right now. Baby steps people.
