How’s it going guys? I have missed you. December might be trying to kill me. I feel like I haven’t had many opportunities to catch my breath. Anyone else have those days, weeks or months? If so, hang in there. Your hard work will pay off, your time and attention to those around you is appreciated and your effort won’t go unnoticed. You hear me? For real, take a minute and breathe.
We have been running around like crazy the past few weeks making dinner time absolute chaos. No one has been home at the same time and honestly after getting home late from recitals, school plays or Christmas parties the last thing I want to do is spend time in the kitchen.
However, the other night we found ourselves all home with nowhere to be. I know as the kids get older this will become even more difficult so I want to soak in every minute I can. Instead of spending time in the kitchen we popped in a DiGiorno Pizza, made cookies and watched Home Alone.
My kids absolutely LOVED Home Alone. I have to say there were a few lines I viewed a little differently as a parent but for the most part it was perfect.
Sometimes a night in is just what we need to recharge and remember what is most important. Right now, Dollar General has several coupons available to make your night in as inexpensive as possible. Our local Dollar General had a variety of options and I was able to pick up a few stocking stuffers as well.
Remember that Friends episode where Phoebe is trying to remember her Grandmothers cookie recipe? After many failed attempts they discover it was a Nestle recipe? Funny episode but the recipe is a good one and it’s on the back of those Nestle Chocolate Chips.
Just what I needed in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the season. What do you like to do for a night in with the kids? My challenge to you is to find one night this week to pick up a pizza, snuggle in at home and relax. You’ll be glad you did. I’m running a little late but will be posting my Winter Bucket List soon so be sure to check back for ideas.
Have a great weekend!
